oh to be 5!

Caelyn's perfect idea of a party this year included 'build-a-bear' (not to mention lots of birthday cakes...). This was the first 'all girl' party we have had, and it was loads of fun! Thanks to all the came and enjoyed her special day. We are so blessed to have such supportive and loving friends and families. Happy Birthday to my sweet Caelyn, we are so lucky.
Although I wish I could have gotten pictures for her next birthday request... just didn't happen. Caelyn wanted for us to bring pink cupcakes to school for all her friends, and read Pinkalicious. Not sure how daddy got signed up, but he did! Some of the boys were pretty convinced they were going to turn pink.
Happy 5th birthday Caelyn!

Run like a girl...

My longest race yet...8k (or 5 miles). This was all trail. Definitely a challenge!
These are some work buddies. We had a great day.

These times are wrong because we started in a heat later than our assigned. I just use it as proof that I finished. Chad believes my time was around 45 minutes.
Zip line at the white water center.
In preparation for Mexico... Jenny's bachelorette party!

No kids pics this time! :)

Happy Birthday to my one and only...

Hog Jog 2009!
Happy Bithoday honey!

So I have to admit...we were a little lacking in the party division of Chad's birthday this year. Needless to say.... we kept very busy!

Chad ran his first 5k, and my second! He did great, and I beat my previous time by 2 minutes. Total time was 26:30! I might mention that I finished 197 out of 700! Whoppe!! We did get to complete the race and celebrate with all the beer and bbq we could eat. How much beer can one drink at 9:00 after running 3 miles? Hmmm?

Here are our official run times!

We went to a wedding, and reception and were beat!

I have to admit that live is chaois at the least right now. Dance, soccer, homework, readying folders... not to mention work and running. Seems we haven't quite figured out our 'grove' yet. Definitely lots to do around here.
Carson has lost another tooth. Carrigan now has 4!

My big 5 mile run is this weeked! And Mexico is only 10 short days away. Too say that we were looking forward to it would simply be an injustice.

Enjoying the city..

We decided to try the kids museum in charlotte... Discovery Place. Although it's undergoing pretty extensive renovation (and we were a little disappointed) we had a great day.

What you can't see is that she was so happy just chewing on the 10,000 wood piece! Some would say he looks just like his daddy!

I believe Carrigan is growling in this one.

So, a little impromtu baby food. Not too many places in downtown Charlotte to buy baby food and we foolishly thought a restaurant might have applesauce or a banana... just french fries. If you can't tell from the picture, they were a hit!

Carriage ride.

Misc pictures...

What a miserable experience... I am holding Carrigan in one arm and lying on top of Caelyn to hold her still. Caelyn is sobbing, Carrigan screaming. Caelyn stops momnetarily to say, 'It's ok sweetie pie' to Carrigan. Between the 2 girls- 5 shots, one finger stick, one hearing test, one vision test and one urinalysis, more stickers than they can hold (or eat), a sympathetic pediatrician, a very empathetic nurse and one $20 toy to make it all better.

Caelyn is 49% for weight, 35% for height. Carrigan is... yes, still on the growth chart. All 23 pounds of happiness!

Oh, one priceless picture!
