Carolina Lily

We recently visited a Salisbury 'hot spot'... of which we knew nothing about! It's a fantastic garden, store, restaurant...not really sure. Occasionally they have special events and this particular event was Butterfly... something or other. Since my mom was in town Caelyn and I thought it would be perfect. We packed up some friends and a nice big blanket. The kids colored and decorated butterflys, they dressed up, ran around chasing butterflys and even did the butterfly boogie! They were lucky enough to have 2 teachers come read a special butterfly story to them. This is Mrs. Ritchie (Carson and Caelyn's k-teachers best friend, and co-k teacher. And Mrs. Nicely, Carson's k-assistant) What a great surprise!

The beautiful redhead if is a friend's daughter :)

Caelyn has even been 'featured' on the Carolina Lily blog! Check it out!

Much, to much to blog regarding the other Michaels.... Carson has been at overnight camp, had his big 7th birthday party! Carrigan is wild as ever and Caelyn has danced herself silly at her first dance recital! She is even spending a whole week with grandma in FL! I have so much to blog, and so little time.

36 North Tri...Tanglewood (or tangle feet)

The body marking is still my favorite part!

So Chad and I have been conflicted about these triathlons. I love training for them, but I am also trying to recover from stress fractures. He enjoys training but doesn't have the time. And We certainly don't have the extra cash lying around to do this as much as we would like. (Each tri can be as much as $75 per person! And we typically have to pay a sitter for the kiddos) So for Father's Day we decided that since we had child care, we would both go for it. It is a little bigger event than the past ones, but seemed like a good time!

So, for the best part of the story... I like to warm up a little on bike and then warm up running a little. Just to get the feel of the course. I honestly don't remember exactly what happened but I know I wasn't even moving when I fell off my bike. My foot was clipped in to my pedal and I couldn't get it out so all of my body weight and the bike landed on my right knee. Embarrasing! So, glad Chad was there to doctor me up... dry my tears and shove me into the water at the start of the race. Yes, I did the race... start and finished. My run time was nothing short of miserable as it was merely a jog. I was sweating so bad that I kept having to lean down and wipe the blood from running down my leg. (sorry for the gory details).

To make matters even better, we had to hurry home to pick-up Carson and get him 2 1/2 hours away to camp! There was no time for a doctor, much less a shower. Thankfully we finally found a Urgent Care that stayed open past 5:00 (which apparently most don't). The PA was fantastic, and we created a much better 'story' for what really happened. :)

Just after we finished, notice the knee :(

My rockin' hubby! On Father's Day!

Just after 'it' happened

I have never actually been a patient in the back of an ambulance before. We were both pretty embarrased for the 'care' they attempted to provide. But.... whatever!

Needless to say I have a MANDATORY 2-week rest. No swimming, running or biking! I can't make any promises how long this will last!

Bubbles never get old...

Love, love love this picture! I am somewhat picky (so hard to believe). But this one fits the bill! :)
Yes, I am the only one that update my blog! So here are a couple pics of what we have been up to. Kids are officially out of school and keeping me running ;0 Extrememly nice not to have to worry about punching a time clock this summer.

Caelyn has her dance recital this weekend. She is so excited, but has informed me that she remembers 'almost none' of the steps! Oh, well! It's fun! Should make great pics at the least! Carson is spending the week with Uncle Eric, Aunt Mary and cousin Ben! He has his first (half week) of over-night camp next week. Almost in disbelief he is old enough to do that.

For Father's Day Chad and I have (oddly) decided to do a triathlon together! Yikes! I am mildly freaking out right now because i have just realized that i have entered my swim time about 10 seconds too fast. To completely understand... you enter your 100 meter swim time and they 'seed' you from fastest to slowest. This decreases the bunching up or passing in the lanes. Lots of times people over or underestimate their times. For some reason I tend to panic regardless how accurate my time is. For sure this one is not accurate. So, Happy Father's Day honey! (and btw.... I am not letting him win! ;)- )
